WATCH: First Footage of Star Trek Into Darkness [UPDATED]

WATCH: First Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer

It’s here! Just as Simon Pegg announced earlier this week, the first trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel has hit the web.

The one-minute and six-second trailer showcases some major destruction being handed down by Benedict Cumberbatch’s still unconfirmed character. Prior to today, leaked photos from the set and the incredibly short three-frame glimpse Abrams showed off during an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show was all we had seen of the film.

Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the film’s villain, handles voice-over duties in the trailer. In an ominous tone, Cumberbatch says:

You think your world is safe. It is an illusion. A comforting lie to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace. For I have returned, to have my vengeance. So, shall we begin?

Release Date for Star Trek: TNG – Season 1 on Blu-ray

Star Trek: TNG, Season 1 on Blu-ray Release Date

According to Amazon’s UK site, Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 1 box set on Blu-ray will be released on July 23, 2012. While this has yet to be confirmed with CBS or on Amazon’s US site, that date would imply that a North American release can be expected around that time.

With the release of The Next Level, a Blu-ray sampler disc released earlier this year, coupled with the fact that it’s the 25th anniversary of the series, interest in TNG appears to be at a fever pitch.

Prior to the release of the sampler disc, CBS announced that all seven seasons of TNG would be remastered and digitally converted for Blu-ray release.

More information below.

The “The Good, True, and Beautiful” is a feature-length documentary that illuminates humankind’s potential through the bringing-together of the best thinkers in science, art and morality.

For most of history the ‘three lenses to the divine’ — often called morality, science, and art — have become the best descriptors of Humankind’s potential.

Often times, these primary values compete for dominance. Sometimes one holds sway at the expense of the others, like the Church of the 17th century, or scientific-materialism of the 20th century. But, ultimately they all share a common goal — to satisfy humankind’s hunger to explore all of life’s possibilities.

“The Good, True, and Beautiful” documents Humankind’s maturation toward deeper feelings, truer thoughts, and greater inclusiveness that considers the welfare of more beings. By assembling the brightest integrated thinkers, we hope to prove that beauty, truth and goodness work in tandem to advance culture’s consciousness and humankind’s potential.
