WATCH: Two Fans Broke Into Paramount Lot, Film Their Own TNG Documentary... In 1988

Back in March of 1988, Star Trek: The Next Generation was deep into the airing of its first season. At that time, two Star Trek fans broke onto the Paramount lot, wandering through the off-limits lot to find the dark sets of TNG. The fans were able to light parts of the sets, including most of the ship’s display terminals and part of the warp core.

In a 32-minute video that recently surfaced on Youtube, “Captain Stone,” dressed in a homemade Starfleet uniform, acts as the host his own “documentary”.

While filming, the fans play with the control panels, climb onto a sickbay biobed and accidentally knock it over. They can also be heard discussing ways to remove set pieces from the stage.

WATCH: Star Trek: Phase II Ventures To Qo'noS In "Kitumba"

The latest episode of the highly-respected fan-series, Star Trek: Phase II, has been released.

“Kitumba”, a two-part story draft for the ill-fated Star Trek: Phase II television series in 1977, was rewritten into a single episode for the fan-made series. Much of the episode takes place on Qo’nos, the Klingon homeworld. The Phase II website notes that members of the International Klingon Federation donated their time for the on-location shoots in Fort Ticonderoga, New York.

The hour-long episode bridges the gap between the Klingons seen in TOS and those seen in the feature films.

WATCH: Tim Russ & Walter Koenig Discuss the Star Trek: Renegades Web Series

The producers of Star Trek: Renegades have posted a synopsis of the the recently proposed Star Trek web series on their Kickstarter page.

The series, which is set to feature former Star Trek actors Walter Koenig, Gary Graham, Garrett Wang, Robert Picardo, Ethan Phillips, Manu Intiraymi, Richard Herd, and Tim Russ, who also handle directorial duties.

Produced by the team behind 2007′s Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, Renegades is currently asking for pledges through the social fundraising site, Kickstarter. With a goal of $200,000, current pledges (as of this writing) are just under $108,000. To receive funding, the project must reach it’s goal before November 26th at 7:21am EST.

Read the synopsis below.

It is nearly ten years after Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, and the Federation is in a crisis. The planet Reuel VII, the Federation’s main supply of dilithium crystals, has essentially vanished. Space and time has folded around Reuel VII, effectively isolating it from any contact with outside worlds. And this phenomenon is not natural – someone or something has caused this to happen.

This necessitates drastic measures; some of which are outside the Federation’s jurisdiction. For this, Admiral Pavel Chekov, head of Starfleet Intelligence, turns to Commander Tuvok, Voyager’s former security officer and current head of the newly reorganized Section 31. Tuvok must put together a new covert, renegade crew – mostly outcasts and rogues – even criminals. This new crew is tasked with finding out what caused the folding of time and space around Reuel, and stopping it – at all costs – from happening to their final source of energy. But will they be able to put aside their differences and stop trying to kill one another in time to accomplish their mission?

Walter Koenig and Tim Russ discusses the project in the videos below.

CBS Stops “New Voyages” from Producing Unused Star Trek Script

Star Trek: New Voyages

CBS has blocked plans for the popular fan-series, Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II from adapting Norman Spinrad’s unused Star Trek script, “He Walked Among Us, into an upcoming episode.

According to a New York Times report, CBS stopped the planned production and claimed rights to the script. “We fully appreciate and respect the passion and creativity of the ‘Star Trek’ fan and creative communities,” CBS said in a statement. “This is simply a case of protecting our copyrighted material and the situation has been amicably resolved.”

The report goes on to point out that New Voyages has already produced an unused David Gerrold script “Blood and Fire,” which was reworked as it was originally planned for an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987.

“I’m not going to do anything that might be questionable. I have such a good relationship with CBS that I can call them anytime and ask, ‘Is this a problem?’ ” said New Voyages senior executive producer and star, James Cawley.
